Contribution to UN Global Goals

The United Nations has adopted 17 Global Goals for 2030 that world leaders have pledged to achieve. Cross-sector collaboration between civil society, academia and the business community is key to achieving these goals. Investor is committed to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

We have identified 6 of the SDGs where we as an owner can contribute the most and where we are most impacted.

 

Gender Equality SDG 5.5 - Ensure full participation in leadership and decision-making. 

As Northern Europe’s largest industrial holding company we play a major role in contributing to gender equality and full participation in women decision-making. Decent work and economic growth SDG 8.2 - Innovate and upgrade for economic productivity 

Investment in research and development is important to ensure the long-term competitiveness of our portfolio companies. Investor engages in companies that are industry leaders and continuously monitors their performance, technology position and research and development strategies. By fostering innovation, we enable the development of new products that drive economic growth. The future success of our companies depends on their ability to drive change and invest in resource efficient solutions that meet the needs of their customers.

Responsible Consumption & Production SDG 12.2 - Sustainable management and use of natural resources

The business community has a key role in taking action and coming up with new innovative solutions to combat climate change and increase circularity. Investor's ownership strategy is based on the conviction that sustainable strategies are fundamental for creating long-term value. Climate Action SDG 13 - Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

Partnership for the Goals SDG 17.16 - Enhance the global partnership for sustainable development

We aspire to have a positive impact on the development of the world through collaboration and by building networks. As an owner, we engage in networks bringing companies together for knowledge sharing and collaboration. One example is the Investor Sustainability Network where Heads of Sustainability in our listed portfolio companies meet. Investor is also part of several forums where knowledge sharing takes place: Swedish Investors for Sustainable Development, Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), Climate Leadership Coalition and The European Round Table for Industry.
